Do not read this post without sunglasses

You may remember that I ran out of Parma Violet, well today I’ve managed to locate some – so I’ll soon be back on track. In the meantime I’ve pressed on with both the Spirit and Temperature blankets. The first 15 days of April were certainly colourful! I didn’t expect that bright splash of Yellow,…

I seem to be stuck on blocks!

Do you know that feeling….. You just want to get started on a blanket! My fingers are itching!! I have the yarn, but I’m still waiting for the final instructions. The sex of the baby will be revealed very soon – and that will determine whether pink or blue is the added colour! I must…

Can you have…..

…… too much of a good thing? I’m still working on the Spirit of February blanket, and I wanted to do something different for the one for Spirit of March. So, guess what? The first four small squares are complete – but until the temperatures change I’ll be stuck here for a little longer. Better…

A preview

Collage apps make it so easy to visualize the possible result: When I get to 30 squares I think I’ll start joining them as I go. This will be a real scrap blanket – I’m having fun using all my short lengths of yarn.   Save

Working with rainbows

There’s nothing like a rainbow to cheer, so I have really enjoyed working on this project. It could have been finished last month, but other things got in the way. Last night, however, the blanket was finished – except for the border. This morning, in daylight, I’ve chosen the colours for this, so it should…

Another progress report

When I need a colour fix I work on this. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of next week Save

Spirit of Catch-Up

Progress on The Spirit of February is slow. It will certainly take a few more weeks to complete as I work on other projects. Here are the centres of the last 12. This month is much more muted than the last two. It will be interesting to see the final result – only a…

Spirit of the third week of January

You may remember reading this post, in which I admitted being sidetracked from the tasks in hand due to the absence of Lobelia in my local shops etc. Well, I’ve continued to work on it alongside other projects (these include my temperature blanket and a rainbow blanket, there will be more about these in future…

Finding our way…

January passed, and here we are in February. We have had a good mix of temperatures so far this year – from into the minuses and up into the teens. It’s made for a good mix for the temperature blanket. I’ll write a post about that later this month. I have long advocated the value…

And now for the ends!

Firstly, thank you for the comments made on my last couple of posts. If you are still waiting for a reply I apologise. I really appreciate them, but find it so much easier to answer via the pic – and I haven’t opened mine for a while. I will do so soon, though, in the…

Finished and presented

I’m pleased to say that the rainbow blanket was finished in plenty of time and presented on the approriate day. Here’s a little slideshow of the finished item. Two more blankets were also needed for Christmas – both equally well received. It’s always a relief, isn’t it!
