Time for another C2C!

At last I can start on a larger project. It’s yet another Corner to Corner blanket The yarn is Cygnet, Kiddies DK. Sherbet dip is the colourway and it’s very pretty. It’s good to be working on something a bit more substantial, but I’ll fit in the Temperature blanket and the Spirit of April somehow…

Spirit of April

The first block is complete. But I still have to decide on a joining colour Save

Spirit of March

Blocking comes next, but here are the last blocks of the Spirit of March Blanket There is that unexpected splash of yellow that I mentioned in my last post too. I had planned on sorting the layout over the weekend, but other things were happening so there was no time. The Spirit of April was…

And so March ended!

Spring sprung in no uncertain terms when the month ended with no less than 20 deg C! A splash of yellow was the last thing I expected to see in last month’s temperature blanket! On to April now – I wonder what will occur.

I seem to be stuck on blocks!

Do you know that feeling….. You just want to get started on a blanket! My fingers are itching!! I have the yarn, but I’m still waiting for the final instructions. The sex of the baby will be revealed very soon – and that will determine whether pink or blue is the added colour! I must…

Five Colour Friday

Sometimes a colour will change dramatically when placed in an unexpected combination. Did you guess the colours? Stylecraft Special DK Magenta, Pale Rose, Parma Violet, Empire, Lavender, Let me know if you use them. Did you know that there are 120 different combinations of 5 colours? There is a list here.   Save Save Save

Rainbowitis – all done!

I love working with colour, so this project has been very satisfying. It took just a little over a month, but I could have finished more quickly if I hadn’t had other projects to keep me occupied too. I used Stylecraft Special DK – as I’ve told you before, it’s the only yarn I can…

Can you have…..

…… too much of a good thing? I’m still working on the Spirit of February blanket, and I wanted to do something different for the one for Spirit of March. So, guess what? The first four small squares are complete – but until the temperatures change I’ll be stuck here for a little longer. Better…

A preview

Collage apps make it so easy to visualize the possible result: When I get to 30 squares I think I’ll start joining them as I go. This will be a real scrap blanket – I’m having fun using all my short lengths of yarn.   Save

Working with rainbows

There’s nothing like a rainbow to cheer, so I have really enjoyed working on this project. It could have been finished last month, but other things got in the way. Last night, however, the blanket was finished – except for the border. This morning, in daylight, I’ve chosen the colours for this, so it should…

Play with a purpose – The Posy Square

All you need is a ball of yarn and a hook! I’ve been playing around with a few odd balls of scrap yarn. Some were so small they really qualified as ‘lengths’ rather than ‘balls’. However, the object was to make a circle in a squaare – as easily as possible! Now I don’t  expect…
